Warsaw-Modlin Airport (WMI)

Warsaw-Modlin Airport (WMI)

Warsaw's second airport, Modlin, hosts about 2 million passengers and connects Warsaw with other European capitals such as London, Brussels, Rome, Dublin, and Oslo. The only airline that uses Modlin Airport is Ryanair.

Warsaw-Modlin Airport was originally constructed for military purposes during World War II and was then utilized by the Polish and Soviet armies in the post-war era. Since then, it has undergone a complete renovation, reopening in 2010 as Warsaw's second passenger airport.

Modlin Airport exclusively serves the low-cost airline Ryanair, providing international flights to destinations such as London, Brussels, Rome, Dublin, Oslo, and other European cities. Additionally, Modlin offers domestic flights to Gdansk and Wroclaw.

While the airport boasts various amenities, including ATMs, free wifi, and supermarkets, its main drawback is its considerable distance from the center of Warsaw, particularly when compared to Chopin Airport.

How to get to downtown Warsaw from Modlin airport?

There are three ways to get from Modlin Airport to the center of Warsaw:

Transfer service

Booking a transfer from Modlin Airport to the center of Warsaw is the most convenient and fastest way to get to your hotel. As a door-to-door service, you can enjoy hassle-free transport and skip worrying about schedules, waiting times, or routes.

Train

The main disadvantage of taking the train from the airport to Warsaw is that it departs from Modlin station. To get there, you have to take a bus. Although it's a fairly inexpensive option, you'll lose a lot of time.

Modlin Bus

This is the most comfortable option. These green and yellow buses will take you directly from the center of Warsaw to Modlin Airport. The main Modlin Bus stop in the city is located at the Palace of Culture and Science. The journey takes about 45 minutes and costs 36 (US$ 8.90).

Cab

Cab companies Sawa Taxi and Taxi Modlin offer transfers from Modlin Airport to Warsaw for about 170 (US$ 42.20). It's not a fixed fare, so we recommend agreeing on the price with the driver beforehand.
